Caspar’s Home is not a photography project, It´t a place I love and would like to share.
This modern cabin is located in the Semmering UNESCO world heritage area of Semmering is now open as a short term vacation rental. It´s only a 50 minutes drive, or 70 minutes train ride ouside of Vienna.
You have stunning views from the house, constantly you can observe the changing moods of nature and see how light is sculpting the rocks and ridges of the Atlitzgraben. One feels like being included in a painting of Caspar David Friedrich. There are plenty of possibilities for walking, skiing, mountain biking, writing a book or observing railways.
It was the first mountain railway in the world, built in 1854 and it´s the reason the place became so popular for the Vienese Fin de Siècle society. Ludwig Wittgenstein, Sigmund Freud, Adolf Loos, Franz Werfel, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Gustav Mahler just to name a few were regular guests in this area. www.unesco.at
